Morrison has been charged following a scuffle in the penalty area with Bolton full-back Nicky Hunt during the match at St. Andrews.
Referee Uriah Rennie did not see the incident at the time but has said after studying video evidence that had he seen it he would have only shown the Blues striker a yellow card.
Morrison is therefore likely to escape the automatic one match ban generally associated with such a charge and will probably just be fined and warned as to his future conduct..
