The pair spearheaded the Crystal Palace forward line when Forsell was on loan at Selhurst Park during the 2000-1 season and the duo netted 34 goals between them.

“He came to Palace at a difficult time. We were fighting relegation and hardly had anyone, to be honest," Morrison told the Evening Mail.

“But we did well together and managed to score a few goals.

“He was a good player back then and a funny guy. I think he’s got even better, he went on loan in Germany last season and did very well.

“He’s a bit like Christophe Dugarry in that he’s got great feet and likes to come and get the ball.

“I don’t know if he’s like that natural goalscorer who will get you goals in and around the box. But he will create chances and score his fair share.

“He is a talent, I’m not going to lie, and I think he’s a really good capture for us.

“Chelsea think very highly of him but he’s not going to get in there at the moment, is he?”.

Forsell was left out of the squad that won 1-0 at Newcastle on Saturday and is now expected to make his Blues debut in the home game with Fulham on Sunday, 14th September.
