Morrison Requires Knee Op

The Blues striker hobbled off the pitch 40 minutes into the Republics 0-0 draw with France in Paris on Saturday evening and the club have now confirmed that he will require surgery on what has been diagnosed as a cartilage problem and he will be sidelined for about a month.

Morrisons absence from first team duties will come as a major blow to Blues boss Steve Bruce who has already lost the services of on-loan Chelsea striker Mikael Forssell for the rest of the season through injury.

Add to that the sale of Stern John to Coventry last month and the Blues boss really is thin-on-the-ground for strikers over the next few weeks at least.
