Morrison to play against Aussies

Morrison, who hasn't played a first team game since dislocating his shoulder in the Premiership clash with West Brom at St. Andrew's in March, may not be in manager Brian Kerr's starting eleven but the Ireland boss has said that he will play some part in the game at Landsdowne Road tonight.

"He's been out for a while and he needs to get back in the rough and tumble of a game. He'll be involved at some stage though not necessarily from the start,"said Kerr.

News of Morrison getting much needed match action will come as a boost to Blues boss Steve Bruce after Mondays news that striker Christophe Dugarry has undergone an operation on his knee and will be sidelined for Blues next two league games at least.

Kenny Cunningham will skipper the Ireland side and the Blues duo are likely to face team-mate Stan Lazaridis who has been named in the Socceroos squad.

The game at Landsdowne Road, Dublin kicks-off at 7.30pm and is being screened live on Sky Sports TV.
