Brierley left Blues in May this year to work in Spain and was replaced by French fitness coach Arnaud Bruchard during the close season.
However, after just a couple of months at the club, Bruchard left St Andrew's last week.
Brierley, who had been Blues' fitness coach for four years before leaving, has now returned to fill the vacant post.
