Eighteen-year-old Kilkenny had been a regular in the Gunners under 19 side this season and was also a key member of the England Under 18 squad that won the Lisbon tournament in Portugal in June last year.
He goes straight into Keith Bertschins 16-man reserve squad for tonights fixture against Middlebrough at Whitley Bays Billingham Synthonia stadium.
