The FA rejected Blues appeal to have Taylors red-card in the game at Portsmouth overturned and he will now be forced to sit out the games against Arsenal and Liverpool next month, leaving the Blues boss with just Ian Bennett as the only keeper at the club with first team experience.

Colin Doyle, despite being capped at Ireland international under 19 level, is yet to play a first team game so Bruce may decide to recall the more experienced Vaesen from his loan deal at Selhurst Park.
