All three goals came in the first half of the match in Salzburg with the in-form Garry O'Connor giving Blues a 7th minute lead.

Nurnberg drew level through Peter Perchtold eight minutes later but James McFadden's first goal of the tour on 16 minutes proved to be the winning goal for Blues.
