Peter Walton Refs Liverpool Match

Last updated : 09 November 2009 By Brian Cartlidge
Blues have already had the pleasure of the Northamptonshire-based official refereeing one of their games so far this season as he was the man in the middle for our away game against Tottenham on 29th August. Stephen Carr and Garry O'Connor were both booked in our 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane.

Peter Walton was also, ironically, the referee in charge for our last Premier League meeting against Liverpool on 26th April 2008. David Murphy and the now departed Mehdi Nafti were booked in our 2-2 draw against The Reds at St Andrews on that occasion.

In total Peter Walton has taken charge of 9 games so far this season in which he has handed out 22 yellow cards and 2 reds.

Trevor Massey and Stuart Burt will be Peter Walton's assistant's for the live television game at Anfield next Monday evening.
