Queens Park Rangers are to lodge an appeal against the sending-off of Mikele Leigertwood during the game against Blues.

The Rangers midfielder was dismissed by referee Stuart Attwell for a high tackle on Lee Carsley 45 minutes into the home side's 1-0 win against Blues at Loftus Road on Tuesday night.

"I thought it was a very harsh decision," Rangers caretaker manager Gareth Ainsworth said of the incident.

Should the appeal be rejected by the FA then Leigertwood will have to serve a minimum automatic three game ban.
