Redknapp Rules Out Savage Bid

Redknapp was quoted as saying that he wants a player in the Savage mould but he insists he was just describing the type of player he wants to buy.

"I like him, he's 110% but he's on decent wages so I think it would be a problem and he's at Birmingham anyway," redknapp has said.

"If Steve Bruce doesn't want to sell him it wouldn't be fair for me to talk about him. All I said was he's the sort of player I would like to have here."

Meanwhile Blues boss Steve Bruce has reiterated that he does not want to sell Savage but realises that every player has his price.

Blackburn seem confident of capturing the Wales international midfielder but Bruce has said that if they want him then they must realise that they are going to have to pay over the odds for his services.

Blues have already turned down an initial bid from Rovers for Savage claiming that the length of time they would have had to wait for the overall payment to be paid by the Lancashire club was just uneacceptable.

The pantomime season is upon us!!
