Taylor was sent off for handling the ball outside the box just moments before half time at Fratton Park and although Pompey scored from the Blues keepers error the referee pulled play back, showed Taylor a red card and gave Pompey a free kick on the edge of the box which they scored their first goal from.
"He had to be sent off didn't he?" Redknapp said after the game.
"He handled the ball outside the box and that's a sending-off offence.
"I would rather have had the goal but we got it soon afterwards. I guess it changed the game but it was a vital one for us and I think we deserved it."
