Redmond pens new Blues deal

Redmond, who turned 17 last Sunday, has committed himself to his hometown club until the summer of 2014.

He became the second youngest player after Trevor Francis to appear for the Blues when he featured in the Carling Cup tie with Rochdale earlier this season.

Redmond has represented England at Under-16 and Under-17 level. He said: "I've worked hard to get here but I know that the hard work has got to continue if I want to push myself on further.

"I've learned so much over this past year and it has given me a taste of what I could achieve.

"The gaffer (Alex McLeish) is always trying to push me on to the next step. He's got plans for me if I'm willing to put the hard work in and I'm determined to become a better player."
