Robbie going nowhere - Sullivan

Amid rumours of interest in Savage from Everton boss David Moyes, Sullivan has also promised the Wales international midfielder a new deal should he continue the form that saw him voted Blues' player-of the -season last term.

“You can rest assured, Robbie will not be leaving this club,” Sullivan told the Birmingham Evening Mail.

“We are not Manchester United or Chelsea and every player has his price. If we got a tempting offer we’d have to think about it.

“But that isn’t what’s happened here and Robbie is such a key performer and a popular individual for us that we’re looking to the future with him around.

“He’s got two years left on his contract plus a year’s option and if, at the end of this season, we’re still a Premier League team and he’s done for us what he did last time, we’ll offer him a new three-year deal instead of the two he’d have remaining.

“He does a terrifically good job for us and I think he’s a perfect fit for our team and club.”
