Reports claim that Blues boss Steve Bruce, keen to sign a defender because of Matty Upsons long-term ankle injury, made a £1.5million bid for the 24-year-old centre back but was told by Rovers that Taylor was not for sale.

Rovers boss Graeme Souness confirmed Blues interest: "Birmingham have been in touch about Tiny, but we do not want to sell him at this time," he said.
