Sav Confident Of Making Wolves Clash

The Wales international midfielder had been hoping to return to Steve Bruce's squad for the game against Charlton on Monday night but after a week's hard training with no reaction to his Achilles injury he woke on the morning of the game feeling sore and was forced to sit out the 2-1 home defeat to the Addicks.

"I must have done 25 miles in training last week and I felt fine on Sunday when the squad was announced," said Sav.

"But I woke on Monday with a stiff calf, possibly because of all the work I'd done, and I felt it would be better all round if I didn't risk playing.

"It was a difficult decision to make but it's eased up now and I'm hopeful I'll be ok to play against Wolves at the weekend.

"It's definitely not a recurrence of the Achilles injury and I'm confident of playing on Saturday and joining up with Wales next week."
