Sav doubtful for Charlton clash

The Wales international midfielder is still struggling with the Achilles injury that has seen him miss three of Blues last four Premiership games.

Savage sustained the injury in the home win over Portsmouth and missed the games against Manchester Utd and Chelsea before returning to the side for the local derby with Villa.

He aggravated the injury again in the Villa game which forced him to sit-out Blues trip to Bolton last weekend.

Manager Steve Bruce has said the midfielder will not play again until he is 100% fit so the game against Charlton is likely to come to soon and the following Premiership fixture against Wolves at Molineux looks a more realistic target for Savage to make his return to first team duty.
