Savage was shown on tv replays to have caught Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman with his elbow towards the end of Blues' 1-0 home defeat on Saturday and although referee Barry Knight did not caution the Bues midfielder an FA disciplinary committee has found Savage guilty of violent conduct.

The Wales international midfielder has been offered an immediate three game ban or he has until 6pm on Tuesday, 24th August to appeal the decision.

If he accepts the charge the three-match suspension will begin immediately. If he denies the charge the case will be heard by a disciplinary commission on Thursday, 26th August.
