Savage has received a one game ban for "brutal action such as violent or aggressive conduct" after clashing with Michael Hughes in the World Cup qualifier against the Irish at The Millennium Stadium earlier this month.
As a result of this Savage misses the Group Six qualifier against England at Old Trafford on Saturday, 9th October.
The Wales FA have said that they are happy to accept Savage's one-match suspension but reports suggest that lawyers for the Blues midfielder may be prepared to take the case to the Court of Arbitration of Sport in Switzerland in an effort to get the decision overturned.
