Savage doubtful for Spurs clash

Savage was substituted after an hour of Blues game against Sunderland last weekend - still struggling with the groin injury that made him a doubt for the game at The Stadium of Light.

This time last week the influential midfielder was rated as only 50/50 for the game against the Black Cats but Savage told the club's official website: "I think my chances of playing against Spurs on Saturday are less than that."

If Savage fails to recover in time for the game with Tottenham it will mean Blues' boss Steve Bruce having to do without the services of one of his most influential players for two games, as Savage serves a one-game suspension when Blues visit Southampton on December 7th.
