The influential Blues midfielder has been forced to sit out the last two Premier League games against Manchester Utd and Chelsea, as well as the Wales international game last weekend, with the injury he sustained in the home win against Portsmouth last month.
However, Savage is hopeful that the injury will have healed in time for him to be considered for the first Birmingham derby of the season on Sunday lunchtime.
"Hopefully with a bit of luck I can be fit for the game on Sunday," said Savage. "It's basically just a niggling injury I have in my Achilles which is a nuisance more than anything."
