Season ticket mania

Of the 21,500 seats the club are allowed to make available, around 60 per cent have already been snapped up.

Despite protests over increases in prices it seems Blues look set to sell a record number of season tickets for next years Premiership campaign.

Blues chairman David Gold told the Birmingham Post & Mail: "I know it is tough on some people and probably for every 100 fans several will find it just impossible.

"We are sympathetic but we do ask that fans realise the board has to consider the overall view, the bigger picture. The next season is probably going to be the toughest season in our history.

"We will be doing everything in our power to maintain our Premiership status and then, hopefully, progress.

"Everyone has to contribute if we are to make this happen and I say a big 'thank you' to those who have come forward and made their commitment.

"Over 7,500 people bought season tickets at the old prices before the play-offs. We offered them that chance and the hardcore of our support took the option up.

"I'm sure if we said two years ago 'give us £100 and we will give you Premiership football' I'm sure our hands would have been bitten off."
