The 20-year-old Northern Ireland Under-21 international midfielder has put pen to paper on two-and-a-half-year contract at St Andrews.
Shroot, who had been playing at non-league side Harrow Borough on a non-contract basis, has impressed the Blues coaching staff during a two week trial.
