This is good news for boss Steve Bruce who has had to patch-up the Blues rear-guard in recent games because of injuries to key players.
“It’s good to have him back in the fold after the operation on his knee,” Bruce told the clubs official website.
“He’s been sorely missed and we’re delighted to have him back.
“He’s been out for a long time, but he’s experienced and as long as he doesn’t have a reaction he’ll play.
“We’ve worked him really hard over the last ten days, with no problems and we’re quite confident.
“It would have been good for him to have a couple of reserve team games under his belt but he hasn’t had the chance.
“This game against Leyton Orient is an ideal opportunity.”
