Sour grapes from Strachan

First of all, with gritted teeth, he claims that Dugarry turned in a 'world class performance' during Blues 3-2 victory over the FA cup finalists but then goes onto claim that he thought that the French striker influenced the referee!!

"My players at times couldn't handle his ability but I thought his personality was too much for everybody," the Saints boss told the press after the game.

"The referee called for Dugarry to come 20 yards towards him. He refused to go and the ref went and saw him. That tells you what type of mentality you are dealing with.

"I've seen Clive Thomas make Kenny Dalglish walk 20 yards to him but that's not what happened.

"I thought it affected the game in terms of what you could get away with. But I reiterate he was the best player on the pitch and it was a world-class performance."

Now, I sit right behind the goal that the alleged first-half incident took place and my view of events is that, surrounded by three Southampton players and the keeper, Dugarry was alleged to have commited a foul - what he did I couldn't tell!

The Blues striker then heads back to face-up to the free kick that Saints keeper Paul Jones is about to take from the six yard box while referee Bennett, who is just outside the 18 yard box, calls Dugarry towards him.

Now if Dugarry is 20 yards away from the ref at this stage he would be in the centre circle at least and this he clearly wasn't!! He was at the most FIVE YARDS away from the official.

Looking down at the ground in frustration Dugarry doesn't notice the ref calling him over and when he did notice they both walked towards each other.

I'm afraid Mr Strachan your comments just smell of sour grapes. The best team won on the day, just admit it!
