Stan's the man for Bruce

Last updated : 24 November 2002 By Brian Cartlidge

Bruce was obviously delighted with all of the players after Clinton Morrison's 88th minute goal grabbed a deserved win but it was the Australian wingers performance that pleased the Blues manager most.

"It's awfully cruel to lose a game to a goal in the last minute but I thought we were the better team on the day and deserved to win

"It's vital you give yourself a platform to work on by not conceding and we have worked hard at keeping clean sheets. We've got to be realistic if we want to stay in the Premiership because there is a hard winter ahead.'' said Bruce.

"I thought we were a threat all day long.

"We've had enough of the Aussies for the last three days, but I thought Stan Lazaridis gave an unbelievable performance, certainly the best performance he's produced under me, and I've been here a year now.''
