Stern At The Baggies

Stern John
The Blues striker came through forty-five minutes of a 4-0 win over a Newport All Star XI in a practice game at the Soca Warriors Lilleshall National Training Centre on Friday evening.

John, who had been suffering from a slight hamstring strain, was amongst the scorers in that game and seems to have shrugged off doubts of missing the historic match against Iraq at West Brom.

"I'm still feeling a bit of discomfort when I put too much pressure on the leg but all in all I felt good after the session and I think I can be ready for the game," he said.

Other British based players in coach Bertille St Clair's 22-man T&T squad are: Shaka Hislop (Portsmouth), Carlos Edwards (Wrexham), Clayton Ince (Crewe), Anthony Rougier (Bristol City), Ian Cox (Gillingham), Marvin Andrews (Livingston), Dennis Lawrence (Wrexham), Kenwyne Jones (Southampton) and Brent Sancho (Dundee).

Kick-off at The Hawthorns is 3pm.
