Stern's injury concerns

Last updated : 19 November 2002 By Brian Cartlidge
Blues' top scorer this season has jarred his knee and the injury has provided him with anxiety - John fears that he could have aggravated a cartilage injury that almost wiped out half a season when he was at Nottingham Forest.

The next 48 hours will be crucial - if there is no change it will mean a scan.

"I am really worried and I am scared what it might mean for my chances of playing in the team," he said.

"Right now I am just waiting and hoping I have jarred the knee and nothing more. But if nothing changes, that's when I will really get concerned.

"The last thing I need is to have aggravated that old cartilage injury. I want to play. I don't want to miss a game.

"That is why I am praying this injury is not serious and that I can get back into the thick of things as soon as possible."
