Sullivan a fan of van Hooijdonk

Van Hooijdonk is being linked with a move to Blues from Feyenoord when the transfer window opens up next month.

The 33-year-old Dutch striker would come with a bit of a reputation - he quit playing for Celtic after famously claiming '£7,000 a week might have been enough for the homeless but not for him', and went on strike at Forest in a quest to get out of the club.

But, Gold is convinced that if Blues did make a move to sign him, manager Steve Bruce would be the man to get the best out of him.

"David [Sullivan] is a great fan of his and we both watched him in awe when he scored two wonder goals in ten minutes for Forest against us a few years ago.

"We know he has a bit of a wayward character but Steve Bruce is exactly the type of manager to get the best out of him."
