Transfer Funds Not In Jeopardy

When new owner Yeung completed his takeover at St Andrews last month he promised manager Alex McLeish up to £40million to spend on new players in the January transfer window.

This pledge, however, was made before Yeung discovered that the club have outstanding bills of £6 million for transfers, agents fees, bonuses and taxes.

But, Blues' new vice-chairman executive Pannu has assured fans that these issues will not effect the clubs January transfer plans.

"The transfer window commitments are still there," he has said.

"This saga will have no effect on the commitments, which are ongoing.

"Although there are extra burdens on Carson, they do not at all frustrate what we plan to do in January. He made a pledge to supporters, and we will honour that.

"Carson doesn't want to engage in a war of words. As for the rest, the post-acquisition due diligence will continue by our experts and time will tell.

"You can't say we're naive in these matters."
