The Blues defender, who has been sidelined with an Achiles injury he sustained during the pre-match warm up at Villa Park in April, had been pencilled in for a return to action in the Reserve team fixture against West Brom this coming Monday.
However, Updson is now suffering with a slight groin imjury and Bruce has revealed that he will play no part in the game at Damson Park on Monday evening but that the Reserve team fixture at Bradford City on 18th October is a more likely date for the Blues centre-back to mark his return to competitive action.
