Arsenal defender Matthew Upson is expected to complete his much-publicised move to Blues on Wednesday after undergoing a medical today.

The deal for the central defender seemed to have hit a snag earlier today when it was confirmed that Upson had been in talks with Leeds boss Terry Venables about a possible move to Elland Road.

However, the player was back in Birmingham today and after a medical on Tuesday evening, Upson will become Steve Bruce's sixth signing this month, on Wednesday.
