Vickers back in training

Vickers' return after knee surgery in June will be warmly welcomed by Bruce, who has Olivier Tebily out with a hamstring injury for another two weeks and Michael Johnson, booked in for groin surgery this week, possibly missing for two months.

Vickers told the B'ham Evening Mail: "I'm in full training again with the lads and I feel great. There are no problems with my knee.

"It's been a long haul for me. The operation was in the second week of June. It goes without saying that I've been frustrated at not being able to play a part since promotion but I'm getting there."

"I need a couple of reserve games first. We haven't got one scheduled until October 9th but I think the gaffer is planning to arrange a couple of friendlies, one next week."
