Vickers out for two weeks

Vickers had stitches to an ankle wound and won't be fit to face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday while Darren Purse also remains a big doubt with an ankle injury.

Olivier Tebily is certainly out, having undergone surgery on a knee ligament injury on Christmas Eve.

"Steve Vickers must be cursing his luck because he is the consummate professional but it has just been one thing after another for him this season," said Blues boss Steve Bruce

"We have got problems because Darren Purse is no further forward with his ankle problem than he was a week ago and we will be without Tebily for four months. He played 70 minutes against Charlton last Saturday with a ruptured medial ligament and an operation was the only course open to us."
