Williams In Posh Loan Talks

Last updated : 30 December 2003 By Brian Cartlidge

Reports on some websites had suggested that the one month loan deal that would take Williams back to his former club had been completed but Blues have comfirmed that talks are still on-going, no paperwork has yet been signed and the deal has not yet been concluded.

Williams has played in just four games for Blues since joining the club from Barry Fry's side in March 2002 and spent the whole of last season and the early part of this season on loan at second division QPR.

He has recently returned to action by playing a couple of games for Keith Bertchins reserves side.

The decision to allow Williams out on-loan (if the deal is concluded) may come as a surprise to Blues fans because with Jamie Clapham missing the last two games with a hamstring injury, Mat Sadler extending his loan spell at Northampton and Martin Grainger still struggling with a knee injury Blues boss Steve Bruce has been using winger Stan Lazaridis in the left back role.
