The Latics have now managed just one win in their last eight league games.
A division higher, in The Championship, Blues keeper Ian Bennett returned to the Coventry side having missed last weeks game against Watford through suspension. Bennett, who's initial one month loan deal expires next week, failed to keep a clean sheet however as the Sky Blues drew 1-1 at home to Cardiff City. In League Two, Andrew Barrowman got his first start for Mansfield Town having made his debut from the substitutes bench last weekend. Barrowman failed to find the net however, as The Stags were beaten 3-1 at home by Oxford Utd. The 20-year-old Blues striker was substituted 14 minutes from time at Field Mill.
