Ther Scotland international winger, who is now a free agent, is currently training with Wolves having now recovered from the cruciate ligament injury that has kept him sidelined for almost twelve months.
"We will have a discussion with his agent," McCarthy told the Express & Star newspaper.
"I am sure there is other interest, there's never been a player yet where there's only been one club in for him.
"Nothing is happening as yet. He's training fine and we will just see what happens."
