Woodhouse spent the last four months of last season on-loan at first division Rotherham United having failed to gain a regular place in the Blues squad and it was widely expected that the former England Under 21 international would leave St. Andrew's during the close-season.
However, as the Blues squad stepped up their pre-season training at Wast Hills this week, the midfielder's willingness has not gone unnoticed by the Blues boss.
"He's shown just the attiude we're looking for," said Bruce.
