Blues Vs Baggies Prediction

Last updated : 17 December 2004 By Blues Mad Leigh

Great result! I was chuffed to see Blues go to Villa Park last week and snatch all three points out of their claret and blues hands.

We were back to our old ways again, getting stuck in and playing for each other. The system Bruce played Sunday worked, and worked extremely well. Darren Carter played his part well with Sav in the centre of our midfield. It was great to see him start, I’m convinced he can come off well for us, sincerely hope he does.

It was nice to see Dunn back to his old ‘inspiration’ ways, getting to the back men, teasing them with his superb skill. A goal will do his confidence great things; I would even put a bet on him scoring the opening goal against the Baggies.

I feel Blues can get a nice, little run going now. In anyone season a team will have it’s highs and lows. Blues have had no highs in terms of consistency so far, so I reckon we can pull off a few excellent results – starting Saturday.

Don’t get me wrong, we can’t take the Baggies lightly, if we do I’m sure we’d struggle to get anything from the game, what I am saying is we have the perfect opportunity this weekend, at home, to prove all our doubters wrong.

Blues will again be without Muzzy. Mario Melchiot may make a return after missing last weekend’s derby at Villa Park.

For Baggies, Darren Moore is likely to miss out on Saturday’s derby clash, so Riccy Scimeca is likely to partner ex Blues’ player, Darren Purse in the heart of Baggies’ defence.

I hope all our fans give Darren Purse a warm welcome back to St. A’s, even though he has just said to the media that he had no regrets in leaving the club. He left on a professional decision, and we should respect him for making the decision he did.

All three points Saturday will do us the world of good, we now need to push on knocking all the teams in our way over. We need to get to the forty-point mark quickly; otherwise we may find ourselves in a dogfight right to the last game of the season.

Baggies are a good outfit, but with the buckets of confidence Blues took from Sunday’s derby game I feel we can get at least a point. Knowing my luck now we will lose, but I’m going to predict what I feel.

I hope it is a decent game, and the best team win, but I’m going to go with a home win.
