Blues Vs Newcastle Prediction

Blues entertain Newcastle this weekend in the attempt to get their second win of the season.

Blues have had an indifferent start to the season, and again are failing to score goals. When you’re in the premier league this makes staying in the division a whole lot harder.

Yes, the new players are settling into our system but this bonding needs to be done sooner rather than later, so we can clime the table before the gap starts to get bigger. When looking at the premier league you can see the gap is getting bigger and bigger every week, and eventually rising in the table becomes very difficult indeed, as Blues found towards the end of last season, when we were pushing for Europe.

Blues will definitely be looking for a home win this weekend; with injuries coming back and there only being doubts in Stan we should have a full squad.

Newcastle are having a good run currently after comfortably beating ‘The Baggies’ in the premiership last weekend. On Thursday night Newcastle play Bnei in the UEFA Cup, so they will be a bit more physically tired than we will be, therefore we have a great advantage over them. This is why the game has been moved to Sunday (3PM KO) as opposed to Saturday (3pm KO)

Newcastle currently sit 6th in the league table after an impressive three wins on the bounce, so the Toons will certainly be full of confidence – but so can Blues be confident after the very respectable point gained away from home at the ‘Reebok Stadium’

Patrick Kluivert is finding the net for Newcastle recently, Alan Shearer has released a statement saying that he'll make amends for his recent performances as Newcastle travel to Israel for their UEFA Cup second leg tie with Bnei. With these two-world class forwards Newcastle are lethal and will punish any team that make mistakes defensively.

Newcastle are very organised - and like all top teams…are very good both defensively but more so offensively.

Last season, at St. A’s Blues managed to pinch a couple of points off Newcastle and in the process gained themselves a point with a late Stern John goal (Final score 1-1) – something John did on a regular basis for Blues, more memorably at Villa Park.

This is going to be a tough game again. Both teams are starting to get great results, and confidence is brewing throughout both squads. Bruce will want to beat his home town club, he will also want his lads to perform extremely well, not just to get one over Newcastle, but to give us fans something to cheer and feel confident about.

A very close game I would think, but this weekend I think Blues will get that bit of needed luck, so we can wrap up and treasure all three points…

therefore I feel it will be a home win (2-1)
