Player Review 2003-04: Olivier Tebily

Last updated : 03 May 2004 By Leigh Whitehouse

Tebily has been an integral part of Steve Bruce's squad this season after an injury blighted first season in the Premier League.

A managers dream to have in his squad because of his versatility, he has been used by Bruce mainly at right back and the Ivory Coast international has not let the manager down too often.

One noticeable fault of Tebily's is however is his lack of concentration - the manager and coach can be seen all too often yelling at him from the touchline during games to keep his awareness.

Noteable performances include the game against Chelsea in January when an amazing off-the-line clearance helped Blues to a hard fought point at Stamford Bridge. I remember thinking "game over" and then there, out of the blue Tebily turns up with quite a breath taking piece of football.

Overall not too many poor performances this season from Tebily who has played his part in a season where defensively Blues have improved no end.

7/10: Pretty much made the right-back position his own throughout this seasons campaign.
