Spurs v Blues Prediction

This is a tough fixture. If we cast our minds back to Wednesday, January the 7th at White Hart Lane you will remember we lost 4-1, a rather embarrassing night by all accounts.

Spurs have a big threat in Jermaine Defoe, he continues to rip defences open like a knife through butter – he causes discomfort to all back lines – as he displayed at the Hawthorns on Wednesday night with a great performance and a goal, he cancelled out Zoltan Gera's early strike to make it 1-1 at half-time.

Spurs looked a lot more comfortable after half time, Jermaine struck the post, Sean Davis forced a fine save out of Russel Hoult but Spurs couldn't quite carve through the tight Baggies defence to score a winner.

Matty and King Kenny will have keep a firm eye on Jermaine, I expect Matty will man mark him – as Matty has more pace compared to Kenny.

Spurs do look organised and are playing some very attractive football. Spurs have won two, lost one and drew three in their last six home games, which is quite a good run I must say, and therefore Blues will find it difficult to get a win at White Hart Lane with these statistics – but in football it’s a case of “anyone can win on their day” you just have to look at Middlesbrough away at Craven Cottage on Wednesday where they beat Fulham 2-0 away.

Bruce has a smaller squad to pick from this weekend and SO early in the season, without the services of David Dunn (Hamstring) Robbie Savage (Banned) Darren Anderton (not match fit) and it is yet to be confirmed whether Clint, Emile and Stan are available as they all have small injuries that may rule them out of a trip to White Hart Lane…but over the next couple of days this will be confirmed – it is hoped that Emile will be available after taking a slight knock to his ankle after scoring that impressive goal against City last Tuesday night, but Emile has said he thinks he will be okay to play if his ankle continues to get better as fast as it is.

This is a really hard game to predict, these two teams even each other out – with Spurs being at home. Both teams will go into this game confident after good midweek results, I know it seems that I’m slightly biased but all my predictions are from a “non-bluenose” perspective!

This week I feel it will be a score draw 1-1.
