Northern Ireland: Maik Taylor & Damien Johnson


Maik Taylor and Damien Johnson were both selected in Lawrie Sanchez's starting XI for Northern Ireland's World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan.

Second half goals from Stuart Elliott and Warren Feeney earned the Irish a 2-0 victory at Windsor Park.

Both Taylor and Johnson completed the full ninety minutes for the Irish.

Finland: Mikael Forssell

Blues striker Mikael Forssell was named in the starting line-up for Finland's Group One World Cup qualifying game in Andorra.

Forssell played for the first 75 minutes of the goalless draw.

England: Matthew Upson


Matthew Upson was an unused substitute in England's World Cup qualifier against Wales in Cardiff.

After a goalless first 45 minutes Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole grabbed what proved to be the winning goal at the Millenium Stadium.

Australia: Stan Lazaridis

Stan Lazaridis was an unused substitute in the Australian side that thumped the Solomon Islands 7-0 in their World Cup qualifier in Sydney.

Jason Culina, Mark Viduka (2), Tim Cahill, Scott Chipperfield, Archie Thompson and Brett Emerton on target for the Socceroos at the Aussie Stadium.

The two sides do battle again in Hondura on Tuesday.
