Republic Of Ireland: Kenny Cunningham & Clinton Morrison

Kenny Cunningham again skippered the Republic of Ireland side in their World Cup qualifier against Faroe Islands whilst Clinton Morrison was also named in the starting eleven.

After a goalless first forty five minutes, Brian Kerr's side scored twice in eight second half minutes through Ian Harte (penalty) and Kevin Kilbane.

The 2-0 victory see's the Republic occupying top spot in the Group Four table.

Cunningham completed the full ninety minutes of the match whilst Morrison played the first 79 minutes.

Holland: Mario Melchiot

Blues full-back Mario Melchiot played for just over an hour for Holland in their 4-0 away win against Finland.

Melchiot replaced Lucius at right-back 27 minutes into the Group One World Cup qualifier.

Ruud van Nistelrooy 35 minutes, Kuyt on 78, Cocu on 85 and van Persie after 88 the scorers for Marco Van Bastens side.

Mikael Forssell played the last 16 minutes for the home nation.

Holland now top the Group One table.
