Northern Ireland: Maik Taylor & Damien Johnson


Maik Taylor and Damien Johnson both played for Northern Ireland in their Group Six away game against Azerbaijan. Lawrie Sanchez's side failing to break down a resilient Azerbaijan defence and having to settle for a 0-0 draw. Both Blues player completed the full ninety minutes.

Next Game: Austria in Belfast on Wednesday, 13th October.



Republic Of Ireland: Clinton Morrison & Kenny Cunningham

Kenny Cunningham again skippered the Republic of Ireland side in their Group Four 0-0 draw against France in Paris. Blues striker Clinton Morrison also started the game against the French but was substituted after 40 minutes after picking up a knee injury.

Next Game: Faroe Islands in Dublin on Wednesday, 13th October.




Denmark: Jesper Gronkjaer

Blues winger Jesper Gronkjaer played in Denmarks qualifier against Group Two opponents Albania. Morten Olsen's side winning 2-0 courtesy of second half goals by Martin Jorgesen and Jon Dahl Tomasson. Gronkjaer played for 77 minutes of the game.

Next Game: Turkey in Copenhagen on Wednesday, 13th October.



Elsewhere, former Blues striker Luciano Figueroa, who had an unsuccessful six month spell at St Andrew's last year, scored twice for Argentina in their 4-2 win against Uruguay in a South American World Cup qualifying game in Buenos Aries.
