Morrison Nets Again For Ireland

The Blues striker, who bagged the Ireland goal in their 1-1 draw against Israel on Saturday, came off the bench at Landsdowne Road to grab what proved to be the winning goal for Brian Kerrs side.

Morrison was introduced in the 61st minute and 20 minutes later he beat an on-rushing Chinese goalkeeper with a spectacular lob from the right-hand edge of the box to give Ireland the lead against what had been a resilient China side.

"It was a scrappy game, maybe we were a little tired but I'm just glad to have scored," Morrison said after the game.

"It was a bit disappointing to be left out of the starting eleven but the manager wanted to give all the players a game over the two matches.

"I'm just glad to have got on, got another cap and scored the winner."

Blues defender Kenny Cunningham played the first 45 minutes in Dublin before being substituted at half time.

Final Score: Republic of Ireland 1-0 China
