Barry Knight Refs Blackburn Game

Last updated : 25 April 2005 By Brian Cartlidge

Blues have already had the pleasure of the Kent-based official refereeing one of their league games so far this season whilst Mr Knight has also taken charge of one Blackburn Premier League fixture too.

Barry Knight was the referee in charge of Blues' first home game of the 2004-05 season against Chelsea back on 24th August. No players from either side were booked during the 1-0 home defeat for Blues on that day although the now departed Robbie Savage did receive a three game ban based on video evidence following the game for elbowing Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman.

The one and only Blackburn fixture that Barry Knight has officiated this season was in their 0-0 away draw against Liverpool back on 16th March. Midfielder Gary Flitcroft was the only Rovers player booked that night.

In total Barry Knight has refereed just 13 Premier League matches so far this season in which he has handed out 24 yellow cards and 3 reds.

Mr B Baker and Mr J Holbrook will be Barry Knights assistants for the game at St Andrew's on Saturday afternoon.
