Man In The Middle

The Oxfordshire official has yet to referee a game involving either side so far this season.

Dermot Gallagher took charge of three Blues games last season the last of which was in the away game against Blackburn Rovers on the final day of the season. No player from either side was booked on that day.

Mr Gallagher also refereed the Blues' 2-1 defeat against Manchester United at St Andrews on 10th April this year. No player from either side was booked on that occasion either.

It was a different matter before that however when Dermot Gallagher was the man in the middle for Blues 2-0 win against Leeds United at Elland Road on 20th September 2003. Robbie Savage and the now departed Christophe Dugarry received yellow cards on that day whilst Leeds had four players cautioned and defender Roque Junior sent off for two bookable offences.

The last time Mr Gallagher refereed a game involving Crystal Palace was back on 16th February 2003. The Eagles lost that game 2-1 at Selhurst Park and although Leeds had three players cautioned no Palace players were booked on that occasion.

So far this season Dermot Gallagher has taken charge of just five Premiership fixtures in which he has handed out 12 yellow cards but no reds.

Mr J Tattan and Mr G Beale will be Dermot Gallaghers assistants for the game at St Andrew's on Saturday lunchtime.
