Michael Jones Refs Palace Game

Last updated : 15 August 2006 By Brian Cartlidge

Blues did not have the pleasure of Mr Jones refereeing any of their games last season although the Chester-based official did take charge of two Palace games during the 2005-06 season.

The last Palace game that Michael Jones refereed in was in their 3-0 Championship semi-final play-off defeat to Watford in May. Fitz Hall and Tony Popovic were both booked during that game.

In total Michael Jones took charge of 39 League and Cup games last season in which he handed out 109 yellow cards and 5 reds.

This season he has refereed just one game (Carlisle v Doncaster) and handed out 4 yellow cards.

Mr J Farries and Mr C Reeves will be Michael Jones' assistants for the game at St Andrew's on Saturday afternoon.
