Mike Dean Refs Manchester Utd Game

Blues have already had the pleasure of the Wirral-based official refereeing three of their games so far this season whilst Mike Dean has taken charge of just the one United fixture during this campaign.

The last time Mike Dean took charge of a Blues game was in our 1-0 win against Stoke City in a 5th Round FA Cup tie at The Britannia Stadium on 19th February. Stephen Clemence and Martin Latka were both booked that day.

Mike Dean had also taken charge of our 2-0 defeat to Chelsea back on 31st December. No Blues players were booked at Stamford Bridge on that day.

He had also been the referee in charge of our 1-0 away defeat to Newcastle Utd back on 5th November 2005. Muzzy Izzet and Stan Lazaridis were both booked at St James Park on that day.

The last time Mike Dean took charge of a United game was in their 2-0 away win against Aston Villa on 17th December 2005. No United players were booked on that occasion.

In total Mike Dean has taken charge of 17 Premier League fixtures so far this season in which he has handed out 51 yellow cards and 5 reds.

Mr D Babski and Mr R East will be Mike Dean's assistants for the game at Old Trafford on Sunday with Chris Foy the fourth official.
